What can you do until help arrives?

• Is it safe to stay in the house?
• Are there any electrical and “slip and fall” hazards?
• Only do activities that are safe for you to perform
• Wet materials can be very heavy, so be careful when attempting to remove these on your own

What to do after flooding:

• Remove excess water by mopping or blotting
• Gather lose items from floor
• Wipe excess water from wood furniture after removal of lamps and table items
• Place aluminum foil or wood blocks between furniture legs and wet carpeting
